Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this research is to compare the level of radioactive pollution caused by leakage radiation on panorama X-ray taking at dental clinics are exposed to radiation can better take more appropriate safety measure to mitigate the risk of harmful radiation.

Methods: 26 panorama X-ray machines were being used in Cheonan. Then, a mobile radiation measurement device was used to make 3 measurements of: natural radiation; radiation emitted inside on panorama X-ray taking; and, radiation measured in 4 different places in the range of 2 m.

Results: In terms of the average radioactive pollution level inside the radiation lab, P-product had the highest radioactive pollution level with 6,723.72¡¾163.72 cpm while C-product had the lowest pollution level of 6,348.67¡¾138.89 cpm (p£¼0.05). In the comparison of radioactive pollution leakage to outside by Panorama device types, significant difference at 0.5 m, 1 m and 1.5 m (p£¼0.05). In terms of the level of pollution leakage to outside, the average value declined with distance in all devices. When comparing natural radiation in terms of distance across different devices, significant difference at 0.5 m, 1 m and 1.5 m location (p£¼0.05).

Conclusion: There was still a small amount of radiation leaked outside the radiation lab through the gap between the door and etc, which does not guarantee safety from radiation leak. It is therefore is recommended to stay outside 2 m range away from the radiation lab during the X-ray taking and wear radiation-proof protective clothes if staying inside the range.
